Corporate Events

An historic and inspirational venue

Founded in 1856, London Rowing Club is one of the UK’s first Rowing Clubs — it’s home to generations of champions and focused on creating new champions.

Known for its charming clubhouse, London Rowing Club offers a unique space for your corporate event or conference. Unique to the space are the Team GB rowing shells from the 1936 Berlin Olympics suspended from the ceiling, along with other sporting artifacts throughout the club, bringing a sense of accomplishment and charm. With an established reputation for summer parties on the balcony overlooking the River Thames, Christmas parties by the open fires along with drinks receptions, product launches, and award ceremonies all year round.

Venue

Whether you are looking for an inspiring venue for team building or corporate meetings, or perhaps a riverside venue for that Summer or Christmas party, at London Rowing Club we have three great rooms to suit any occasion or requirement.

Impress and inspire your delegates as they arrive into the Fairbairn Room, showcasing over 100 years of rowing excellence, the ideal way to kick-start your event. Our Member’s room provides a more intimate space, ideal for those important meetings or as a break-out room. Finally, we have the Long Room, with direct access to the balcony for views out onto the River Thames and a piece of Team GB Olympic history.

Catering

At London Rowing Club, we understand that having the right catering for your events is vital, which is why we are dedicated to bringing you exceptional caterers local to Putney and South West London.

Working with you, our catering partners will craft a bespoke menu that will reflect your wishes for the event. Barbeques are synonymous with summers on Putney Embankment, and hosting your summer party on the balcony of London Rowing Club is the perfect way to bring your team together. Why not follow with a grazing board of desserts or even a visit from a local vegan gelato specialist? This idyllic, unique location is perfect to come together to celebrate.

Rowing

In this new era of hybrid working, it has never been more important to connect staff, boost morale and facilitate effective communication. This is why, experience days at London Rowing Club are the perfect venue for you - calling on over 150 years of generating champions and we are dedicated to creating more both on and off the water.

Rowing is the ultimate team sport, empowering individuals unlike any other sport and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. We are privileged to be the home of TopRow on the Putney Embankment – a leading Learn 2 Row organisation with hundreds of graduates each year.

The experience will begin in our newly refurbished state-of-the-art gym, where our qualified coaches will teach you the fundamentals of rowing, guiding your guests from complete beginners into confident rowers. Once you’ve mastered the basics, it’s time to take to the water and the legendary Oxford & Cambridge Championship Course. We like to bring a competitive element to the day, with our coaches organising a fun time trial between the crews – followed by a medal ceremony back in the clubhouse.
